Is e-invoicing mandatory in Germany?
Set who you invoice and your size below for the dates that apply to you. Pre-filled for Germany.
Germany: confirmed, your date is 1 January 2028
In Germany you will need to issue structured e-invoices (XRechnung, ZUGFeRD / Factur-X, Peppol BIS) from 1 January 2028.
You must already be able to receive a structured e-invoice (since 1 January 2025), the duty to receive arrives before the duty to issue.
Until your issue date, a compliant invoice PDF (including reverse charge) is valid. euinvoice creates compliant PDFs today, and Pro users can export Factur-X (EN 16931) e-invoices.
